The evening
Sherbeth’s journey culminates in La Notte del Gelato: on Monday 16 November, Palermo’s Teatro Politeama Garibaldi hosts the announcement of the winners of the Procopio Cutò Award.
A grand evening of entertainment, with music and dance accompanying the awards and celebrating the research, creativity and artisan culture of the master gelato makers.
A setting where architectural beauty meets more than a hundred and fifty years of Palermo’s performing-arts history.
Your hosts
Hosting the evening are Maddalena Fossati and Danilo Poggio, two professionals who combine gastronomic expertise with a gift for communication.
Editor-in-Chief, La Cucina Italiana
Editor-in-Chief of La Cucina Italiana since 2017, Maddalena Fossati championed the initiative that led to Italian cuisine being recognised as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, chairing its promoting committee. Her presence links the celebration of gelato to a broader vision of food as culture and identity.
Journalist and storyteller of taste
A professional journalist, certified wine taster and member of wine and food juries, Danilo Poggio has been telling the story of taste for more than fifteen years on radio, television and at live events.
Together they will guide the audience through the most eagerly awaited moment of the Festival, when the competing creations meet the juries’ verdict and their makers’ work receives its due recognition.

Booking is required to attend. Admission is granted on presentation of the ticket received when booking in the WebApp, subject to seat availability.
